I attended yesterday evening one of the sweetest concerts. The band is called She & Him- "Him" is M. Ward and "She" is Zooey Deschanel. I can't really describe it other than you feel like you're at a state fair and there's apple pie and sweet tea at the concession stand. How to describe them is a cross between something featured on the Grand Old Opry and Lawrence Welk with an edge. To make Deschanel extra sweet, she talked of their outfits they bought while in town and picked peach because they're in Georgia- ahh! Her face says a million words and is cute as a button. M. Ward made me giggle when he'd come in on the vocals and do his guitar moves. :-) It kinda stinks they only played for an hour, but it was still a good show. I can't say much more other than they're a breath of fresh air and you're so happy when you listen to their album, Volume One. Please check them out and you won't be sorry you did. Also, pay them a visit on MySpace or their official website.

Man, I'm so bummed I didn't get to go to this. Lauren has been sick for a week and a half so I've been home taking care of her.
They only played for an hour? I would have totally felt cheated!
That stinks. I wish you were there, too! It sold out maybe 30 minutes before the opening band, Freakwater, played. You didn't feel cheated. An hour with Zooey jumping up and down playing a tambourine was so worth it! :-)
