My apologies for giving the feedback later rather than sooner. Moving on, this year's AFI series special was so cool, but so pointless at the same time. It was so cool because they paid tribute to films that actually matter. I went absolutely cuckoo when the mystery genre appeared and have seen all of them... except for The Usual Suspects (it's on the list). I am almost certain film nerds across the country were saying "YES!" when City Lights won the top spot for the romantic comedy genre. Speaking of genre... in case you don't know what that is, it's a fancy way to say category. "Genre" is used mainly for music (i.e. rock, electronica, country) and film (comedy, drama, horror). I'm not trying to make it (using higher pitched voice) awkward, it's just an FYI so you can impress your friends by saying it in a sentence today.
You've heard the rave, now here's the rant. It's probably one of their dumbest categories. It's up there with the "100 movie quotes" and "100 cheers" (inspirational films). Do you see at independent "true" video stores a "courtroom drama" section?? I know they have a Top 25 musical list, but bring on the air! How about 100 directors? 100 music scores? The other 50 contemporary actors when it was the "100 Stars" year and did just the 50 legends- can't they count?
Before I get on my soapbox, go here to view AFI's 10 Top 10. Below are the picks for the 10 genres discussed.

I love when people post pictures of their workspaces, homes, and stuff in
their bags. It's not fair to ask without giving a little, right? What lately
has...
